If your server is going to run a lot of files you should also consider buying 2 hard drives. One of them for the operating system you use, like Microsoft 2003 Server, and one for the server emulator program. The preferred hard drives for a server are SATA2 or SCSI with low access time. If you want even more power from your server you can use multiple Dual Core or Intel quad core QX6700 processors from Intel or AMD but for a game server it will hardly be necessary.
